Limits and DNS records — tinysend developers

The numbers and records worth keeping handy.

Email limits

  • max email size: 25 MB including attachments
  • attachment types: all types supported
  • subscribers per newsletter: unlimited (you pay for sends, not size)

Sending limits

New newsletters ramp up over a 30-day warm-up, tracked separately per provider. Once warm-up completes, your monthly limit is set by your plan. See email warm-up and pricing.

API rate limits

60 requests per minute per token. Limits are reported in the X-RateLimit-* response headers. See the API reference.

DNS records for custom domains

When you set up a custom domain, tinysend gives you the exact values to paste. The record types are:

  • CNAME — points your archive subdomain at tinysend hosting
  • TXT (SPF) — authorizes tinysend to send for your domain
  • CNAME (DKIM) — publishes the keys that sign your mail
  • TXT (DMARC) — sets your policy for mail that fails auth

Use the values shown in your newsletter’s sender tab — they’re specific to your domain. Changes can take a few minutes to a few hours to propagate before they verify.
