Zero tolerance for spam

tinysend is built for legitimate newsletters. We have zero tolerance for spam, unsolicited emails, or abuse. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR, and other email regulations.

What counts as spam

  • Sending emails to people who didn’t subscribe or opt in
  • Buying, renting, or selling email lists
  • Sending deceptive subject lines or “from” addresses
  • Not including a working unsubscribe link (we add this automatically)
  • Not honoring unsubscribe requests promptly
  • Impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity
  • Phishing, malware distribution, or illegal content

How we prevent spam

Free tier:

  • All posts require manual approval before sending
  • Limited to 100 emails per month
  • Rate limited to prevent abuse

All tiers:

  • Double opt-in for subscribers (confirmation email required)
  • Automatic unsubscribe links in every email
  • Blocked disposable email domains
  • Monitoring of bounce rates and spam complaints
  • Sender domain verification and warm-up for new senders

You must have explicit consent from subscribers before adding them to your list:

  • They signed up via your newsletter page
  • They opted in through your website or product
  • They explicitly requested to be added

You cannot:

  • Import purchased or rented lists
  • Add people from scraped websites or directories
  • Add business cards you collected at events (without explicit opt-in)
  • Assume consent from existing customer relationships (unless clearly stated)

Required elements

Every email must include (we handle this automatically):

  • Accurate “from” name and email address
  • Clear subject line that matches content
  • Physical mailing address (required by CAN-SPAM)
  • One-click unsubscribe link

Monitoring and enforcement

We monitor:

  • Bounce rates (high bounces = bad list quality)
  • Spam complaint rates (subscribers marking as spam)
  • Engagement rates (opens, clicks)
  • Subscriber growth patterns (sudden spikes = suspicious)

Violations result in:

  • Warning for first minor offense
  • Temporary suspension for repeat offenses
  • Permanent ban for serious violations (spam, phishing, illegal content)
  • No refunds for accounts terminated due to spam

Reporting abuse

If you receive spam from a tinysend user:

  • Use the unsubscribe link in the email (we process these automatically)
  • Report abuse: abuse@tinysend.com
  • Include full email headers if possible

We investigate all abuse reports within 24 hours.

Best practices

To maintain good sender reputation:

  • Only email people who explicitly opted in
  • Send quality content regularly (not sporadic mass blasts)
  • Remove unengaged subscribers periodically
  • Make unsubscribe easy and obvious
  • Respond to subscriber complaints promptly
  • Keep your list clean (remove bounces)
  • Use clear, honest subject lines
